The Role
As a Laundry Services Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for our residents by providing high-quality laundry services. You will ensure that all linen and clothing are cleaned, sorted and returned in a timely and hygienic manner, contributing to the comfort and care of our residents.
This role suits someone with a strong work ethic, an eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards in a supportive aged care environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operate commercial laundry equipment safely and efficiently
Sort, wash, dry, fold and distribute residents’ clothing and facility linen
Ensure correct use and storage of chemicals in accordance with safety guidelines
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the laundry area
Adhere to infection control and workplace health and safety protocols
Collaborate with team members and respond promptly to laundry requests
Respect residents’ belongings and maintain confidentiality at all times
Essential Requirements
Training or experience in a commercial laundry setting
Current National Police Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and time management skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable Requirements
Knowledge and experience in handling chemicals safely
Experience working in a residential aged care environment
Understanding of infection control procedures and manual handling practices
