The Role
As a Laundry Services Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for our residents by providing high-quality laundry services. You will ensure that all linen and clothing are cleaned, sorted and returned in a timely and hygienic manner, contributing to the comfort and care of our residents.

This role suits someone with a strong work ethic, an eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards in a supportive aged care environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate commercial laundry equipment safely and efficiently

  • Sort, wash, dry, fold and distribute residents’ clothing and facility linen

  • Ensure correct use and storage of chemicals in accordance with safety guidelines

  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the laundry area

  • Adhere to infection control and workplace health and safety protocols

  • Collaborate with team members and respond promptly to laundry requests

  • Respect residents’ belongings and maintain confidentiality at all times

Essential Requirements

  • Training or experience in a commercial laundry setting

  • Current National Police Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience in handling chemicals safely

  • Experience working in a residential aged care environment

  • Understanding of infection control procedures and manual handling practices
