Are you a hands-on problem solver who takes pride in keeping things running smoothly?

Respect Coates is seeking a Maintenance Coordinator to join our team in a part-time role (24 hours per week), working three 8 hour days. The days of work are negotiable, offering flexibility to suit the right candidate.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with broad maintenance experience who enjoys a varied role, takes initiative, and values making a real difference in the lives of older Australians.

About the Role

As Maintenance Coordinator, you'll be responsible for ensuring our buildings, equipment and grounds are safe, well maintained and welcoming for residents, visitors and staff.

Working closely with the General Manager, you'll coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance, manage contractors, maintain asset records, and help ensure the facility continues to operate safely and efficiently.

No two days are the same—you might be organising scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting an urgent repair, coordinating contractors, or helping keep our gardens and outdoor spaces looking their best.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate preventative and reactive maintenance across the facility.
  • Maintain the asset register and maintenance records.
  • Schedule and oversee servicing, repairs and contractor works.
  • Support refurbishment projects, equipment replacement and capital works planning.
  • Ensure buildings, resident rooms and grounds are maintained to a high standard.
  • Monitor stock and maintenance supplies.
  • Assist with fire safety, emergency preparedness and essential services compliance.
  • Coordinate testing and tagging (or perform if suitably qualified).
  • Ensure company vehicles are maintained and serviced.
  • Participate in an on-call maintenance roster as required.

About You

You'll be practical, organised and able to work independently while building positive relationships with residents, staff and contractors.

Ideally, you'll bring:

  • General maintenance and gardening skills.
  • Current Driver's Licence.
  • Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Experience coordinating maintenance programs.
  • Trade qualification relevant to the role.
  • Testing and Tagging certification.
  • Experience in residential aged care, healthcare or a similar environment.
  • Experience in grounds maintenance or horticulture.
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems and asset management.
