About the role

As a Social Care Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting individuals with daily living activities, promoting their wellbeing, and enhancing their quality of life. Working under the guidance of qualified care professionals, you will help deliver personalised care and build meaningful connections with those you support.

Key Duties

  • Assist with daily personal care tasks and mobility support
  • Provide emotional support and encourage independence
  • Assist with meals, social activities, and community engagement
  • Maintain accurate records and report changes in wellbeing
  • Contribute to a positive, safe, and inclusive care environment

Essential Requirements:

  • Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care, Disability or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience working with individuals living with dementia
  • Caring, patient, and committed approach to supporting others
  • Strong communication skills with an empathetic, respectful manner
  • Reliability, motivation, and the ability to work effectively within a team

Desirable Requirements:

  • Additional training in dementia care (e.g., Dementia Australia courses)
  • Experience working in aged care, community care, or residential care settings
  • Knowledge of person-centred care principles
  • Understanding of behaviour support strategies
  • First Aid and CPR certification
