Respect is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting older Australians across our network of aged care homes, retirement villages and home care services. We are currently seeking a passionate and reliable Casual Chef to join our team at Riverside Gardens in Nambucca Heads, NSW.
This role is ideal for a qualified or experienced chef who enjoys working in a caring, resident-focused environment and takes pride in preparing high-quality meals that enhance daily life for older Australians.
About the Role
As a Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering nutritious, appetising meals that meet residents’ dietary needs, preferences and cultural requirements. You will work closely with the hospitality team to ensure food service standards, safety and presentation are consistently maintained.
Shifts may include mornings, afternoons, weekends and public holidays, in line with operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook meals in accordance with menus, recipes and dietary requirements
Cater for special dietary needs including allergies, modified textures and cultural preferences
Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety and cleanliness in line with legislation and organisational policies
Assist with menu planning and food preparation as required
Monitor food quality, portion control and presentation
Work collaboratively with kitchen and care teams to support resident wellbeing
Uphold Respect’s values in all interactions
About You
You are passionate about food and understand the important role nutrition plays in the health, comfort and enjoyment of residents in aged care.
You will bring:
Relevant chef qualifications and/or proven experience in a similar role
Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Strong organisational and time-management skills
A positive, team-focused attitude
Commitment to infection control and workplace safety
Desirable (but not essential):
Experience in aged care, healthcare or large-scale catering environments
