An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Chef Supervisor to join our team at Mitchell House, leading kitchen operations and delivering exceptional dining experiences for our residents.

About the Role 

 In this hands-on leadership role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, ensuring high-quality, nutritious meals are prepared and delivered to our residents. You will lead and support a small kitchen team, maintain compliance with food safety standards, and contribute to creating a positive dining experience for residents.

 

No two days are the same! As Chef Supervisor, you will: 


• Lead, supervise and support kitchen staff in daily operations
• Prepare and cook nutritious, high-quality meals in line with resident dietary requirements
• Plan menus in consultation with residents and management
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and infection control standards
• Manage stock, ordering, and inventory control
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment
• Support continuous improvement in food service delivery
• Build positive relationships with residents, staff and families

 

 

About You 

You’ll thrive with us if you have:


• Trade Cook Certificate or equivalent
• Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within aged care or healthcare
• Current Food Safety Supervisors Certificate
• Sound knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• A passion for preparing nutritious meals and enhancing resident wellbeing
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A valid Police Check (or willingness to obtain one)

*The successful candidate will receive a base salary between the range of $79,000 - $85,000.
