Chef Supervisor

  • 2 Charles Street, Toogoolawah Alkira, QLD, Australia, 4313
  • Full time

This is not your average chef job. At Respect’s Toogoolawah Alkira facility, we are looking for a Chef Supervisor who can do more than cook. Someone who can lead, inspire, and turn mealtimes into moments of care, comfort, and connection for our residents.

Why Toogoolawah?

If you have been dreaming of a true change, this is your moment. Toogoolawah, in Queensland’s beautiful Somerset region, has all the warmth of a country town plus the bonus of lakes, trails, and wide-open skies right on your doorstep. Imagine working in a rewarding role, then spending your weekends fishing, hiking, or enjoying life at a slower pace — all within a supportive and welcoming community.

What you will do

  • Lead the catering team to deliver nutritious, high-quality meals every day.
  • Plan menus that are healthy, varied, and considerate of dietary needs.
  • Support and mentor staff, creating a positive and motivated kitchen culture.
  • Oversee food safety and compliance, stock control, and supplier management.
  • Listen to resident feedback and make mealtimes something to look forward to.
  • Get hands-on in the kitchen, preparing and cooking meals that truly nourish.

What you will bring

  • Trade Cook Certificate (or equivalent).
  • Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate and Food Handling qualification.
  • Solid hospitality experience (aged care or health is a bonus).
  • Great organisational skills and a knack for leading a team.
  • A genuine passion for creating food that makes people feel cared for.
  • National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).

Why you will love working with us

  • Full-time role with stability and purpose.
  • Work for a not-for-profit that values people over profit.
  • Salary packaging benefits to increase your take-home pay.
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities.
  • Supportive, mission-led team culture where your work makes a difference.
  • Live and work in a welcoming community with true country charm.
