Make a difference every day

We’re looking for a Cleaning & Laundry Services Superstar to join the warm and dedicated team at Respect St John’s in Wangaratta, Victoria, on a casual basis.

If you take pride in creating clean, fresh and welcoming spaces and enjoy the flexibility of casual work, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

As part of our team, you’ll play an important role in supporting the wellbeing of our residents by maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and laundry care. Your work will help create a safe, comfortable and homelike environment where our residents feel valued, respected and cared for.

Casual shifts are offered based on operational needs and may include weekdays, weekends and public holidays.

At Respect, we don’t just value what you do — we value who you are. We’re looking for people who bring kindness, reliability, teamwork and pride to everything they do.

About Us

Respect Aged Care is a proud not-for-profit organisation that has been caring for older Australians since 1922.

With homes and services across Victoria, New South Wales and Tasmania, our purpose is simple but powerful: to care for older people in our communities with dignity, respect and belonging.

We believe everyone deserves a life well lived, and we’re growing a community of people who share that belief.

About the Role

As a Casual Cleaning & Laundry Services Assistant, you’ll help deliver high-quality cleaning and laundry services to ensure our home remains clean, safe, comfortable and welcoming for residents, visitors and staff.

This is a varied and rewarding role where your contribution will make a genuine difference each day.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing high-quality cleaning services throughout the residential aged care home.
  • Washing, drying, folding and distributing residents’ personal laundry and linen.
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, infection prevention and hygiene.
  • Safely using cleaning chemicals, equipment and products in accordance with procedures.
  • Supporting a clean, comfortable and homelike environment for our residents.
  • Working respectfully and collaboratively with the care, hospitality and broader team.
  • Treating residents, their families, visitors and colleagues with kindness and respect.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is reliable, caring and takes pride in their work.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience or training in cleaning, laundry or similar support services.
  • An understanding of infection prevention and safe chemical handling practices.
  • A strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • A friendly and respectful approach to working with older people.
  • Availability to work casual shifts across weekdays, weekends and public holidays as required.
  • A current National Police Check, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Previous experience in residential aged care or a similar environment is highly regarded.

To be considered for employment with Respect, all candidates must meet the legislative requirements of the Aged Care Worker Screening process to ensure suitability to work in the aged care industry.

Why Join Respect?

When you join Respect, you’ll become part of an organisation where the work you do has a meaningful impact on the lives of older Australians.

You’ll enjoy:

  • Flexible casual shifts to suit your availability.
  • Salary packaging benefits available through our not-for-profit organisation.
  • A supportive, friendly and welcoming team environment.
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities.
  • The opportunity to build meaningful connections with residents and colleagues.
  • Career opportunities within a growing and values-driven organisation.
  • The satisfaction of knowing your work helps create a place residents can truly call home.
