Are you a clinically experienced professional with a strong understanding of aged care compliance, quality and risk? Do you enjoy investigating issues, resolving complex matters and helping organisations continuously improve?

Respect Aged Care is seeking a Compliance Liaison Officer to support our Chief Quality and Risk Officer in managing complaints, regulatory responses and quality improvement across the organisation.

This is an excellent opportunity for a clinically experienced professional who wants to move into a broader organisational quality and compliance role, helping ensure the highest standards of care for older Australians.

About Us

Since 1922, Respect has been caring for older Australians through high-quality aged care and community services. Today, we are proud to be the largest regional aged care provider in Australia, delivering care across multiple states and communities.

Our mission is simple: to care for the elderly in our communities in an environment of respect, value and belonging.

About the Role

Working closely with the Chief Quality and Risk Officer, the Compliance Liaison Officer plays a key role in supporting the organisation’s approach to complaints management, regulatory responses and continuous improvement.

You will work across a range of complex and sensitive matters, helping to ensure concerns are investigated thoroughly, responses are evidence-based, and improvements are identified to strengthen the quality of care we provide.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing detailed responses to complaints, regulatory enquiries and investigations

  • Supporting responses to external bodies including the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission, Coroner and other stakeholders

  • Identifying and escalating clinical and operational risks

  • Investigating issues using complaint resolution techniques including open disclosure and investigation

  • Analysing trends and identifying opportunities for quality improvement

  • Working collaboratively with operational leaders to support resolution and learning across the organisation

About You

You are a confident communicator who can manage complex issues with professionalism, empathy and sound judgement. You enjoy analysing information, identifying risks and helping organisations improve systems and practices.

You will bring:

  • A health professional background with understanding of aged care operations

  • Strong knowledge of the Aged Care Act, Aged Care Quality Standards and relevant legislation

  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, evidence-based responses and reports

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Experience in quality, risk, complaints management or compliance

  • The ability to work independently while collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders

  • Clinical experience as a Registered Nurse
