About the Role

Under the direction of the Chef/Cook, the Food Services Assistant contributes to the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the Food Safety Program (FSP), while delivering a variety of high-quality food and beverages that meet each resident’s individual needs and preferences.

Key Duties

• Contribute to menu planning to meet residents’ needs and preferences

• Prepare, serve, present, and deliver food and refreshments in accordance with the FSP

• Complete general cleaning duties in line with the FSP

• Assist with monitoring and recording requirements (e.g. temperature checks and receipting goods)

• Ensure the friendly and timely delivery of meals and refreshments to all residents

• Report any concerns or difficulties related to food and beverages to the Registered Nurse in Charge

Essential Requirements

• Food Handling Certificate (or ability to obtain)

• Current National Police Certificate (or ability to obtain)

• First aid certificate (or ability to obtain)

• Experience in residential aged care food services

• Ability to meet Aged Care Worker Screening legislative requirements
