About the Role

As a Food Services Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting residents’ wellbeing by assisting with food preparation, meal service, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen and dining environment. You will work collaboratively with the catering and care teams to ensure meals are delivered in a timely, respectful, and resident-focused manner.

This is a casual position, offering flexibility across a rotating roster.

Key Duties

• Assist with basic food preparation and meal plating

• Deliver meals and beverages to residents in line with dietary requirements

• Assist residents during mealtimes where required

• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, dining, and service areas

• Wash dishes and utensils and manage waste appropriately

• Follow food safety, hygiene, and infection control standards

• Accurately complete required documentation

• Work collaboratively with the catering, care, and clinical teams

• Comply with all organisational policies, procedures, and aged care quality standards

About You

• Previous experience in food services, hospitality, or aged care (desirable but not essential)

• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices (or willingness to learn)

• A friendly, respectful, and resident-focused approach

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

• Current National Police Certificate and Aged Care Worker Screening (or ability to obtain)

• Availability to work across a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays
