Unqualified Home Care Assistant

About the Role

As a Home Care Assistant, you will deliver individualised, in-home support to clients, enabling them to remain living independently in their own homes while maintaining their quality of life.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Supporting personal hygiene and daily living activities

• Preparing meals

• Performing light household cleaning

• Assisting with transportation and appointments

• Monitoring and reporting changes in a client’s condition

• Supporting health, wellbeing, and social engagement

All care is delivered in a personalised, respectful, and caring manner, aligned with client care plans, Respect policies, and best practice standards.

Role Specific Details

• Availability: Minimum 3 days per week

• Hours: Between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

• Location: Hamilton and surrounding areas

• Travel Required: Must be able to travel within approximately a 40 km radius, including towns such as Cavendish, Coleraine, and Dunkeld

What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• A genuine passion for making a positive difference in aged care and community services

• The ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

• Respect for all people, regardless of background, gender, age, religion, race, or sexual orientation

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Confidence using electronic devices and applications (training provided)

• A flexible and reliable approach to work

Essential Requirements

• COVID-19 vaccination (mandatory for Home Care)

• Current CPR and First Aid certification

• Full driver’s licence and reliable, suitable vehicle

• Ability to transport clients

• Availability Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work

• Ability to work later shifts when required (up to 8:00 p.m.)

Certificate III in Individual Support, Ageing, or similar is desirable but not essential.
