About the Role

We are seeking a creative, innovative, and highly motivated Instructional Designer to join our Corporate team and help shape the future of learning across our organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to design engaging, modern learning experiences that directly support safe, high-quality care for older Australians.

In this role, you will transform existing content into engaging, interactive eLearning modules, turning information into meaningful, visually compelling learning that improves engagement and understanding.

We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of adult learning principles and a passion for innovative learning design, including the use of emerging technologies to enhance learning experiences. A creative approach to design is highly valued, including the ability to bring fresh, modern, and engaging visual concepts to learning materials.

You will design learning pathways that are structured, and visually engaging—organising content into clear themes to support learner understanding and consistency across programs. Experience developing micro-learning content, including short, engaging videos and interactive learning assets, will be highly regarded.

Reporting to the Organisational Development Manager, you will work closely with our subject matter experts to translate clinical, operational, and compliance content into accessible learning solutions that support workforce capability and organisational compliance.

We are seeking a self-motivated, project-focused individual with a background in health or aged care who can work independently and consistently deliver high-quality outcomes. You will ideally bring 2–5 years’ experience in instructional design or a related learning and development role.

This role is best suited to someone who enjoys flexibility, creativity, and autonomy in their work, and who is comfortable working remotely.

No two days are the same! As Instructional Designer you will:

  • Design and develop engaging digital learning solutions including eLearning modules, microlearning, videos, assessments, and interactive resources, supported by blended learning materials such as facilitator guides, participant resources, and presentation content
  • Apply adult learning principles and instructional design best practice to create accessible, user-focused learning experiences, translating clinical, operational, and compliance requirements into clear and engaging content
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts across clinical, care, hospitality, workforce, and corporate teams to identify learning needs, facilitate workshops and review sessions, and build strong stakeholder relationships to ensure accurate, relevant, and practical learning solutions
  • Ensure all learning content aligns with Aged Care Quality Standards, NSQHS Standards (where applicable), and organisational compliance requirements, embedding safe and best-practice approaches into all designs
  • Develop, test, and publish eLearning content within the Learning Management System (LMS), and support reporting, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of learning pathways and user experience
  • Monitor engagement and completion data, and evaluate learning effectiveness using feedback and data insights to improve outcomes and compliance
  • Contribute to capability frameworks and organisational learning initiatives, while staying current with emerging trends and innovations in digital learning and aged care practice

About You

You’ll thrive with us if you have:

  • Proven experience in instructional design and eLearning development, with a strong portfolio of digital learning
  • Confidence using authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, and AI-enabled design tools
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and blended learning design
  • Experience developing learning content in compliance, safety, or clinical environments (health or aged care highly regarded)
  • Ability to turn complex information into clear, engaging, and practical learning experiences
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams
  • High attention to detail and a focus on delivering quality, user-centred learning outcomes

Perks & Benefits

  • As a not-for-profit you can reduce your tax by salary packaging up to $15,900 per year for living expenses, bills, rent, mortgage and groceries. Take advantage of a further $2,650 to pay for meals out or holiday accommodation
  • Training and development pathways
  • Supportive leaders who are onsite
  • A friendly, down-to-earth workplace
  • Opportunity to build a long-term career in aged care
