We are currently seeking a reliable and motivated Casual Maintenance Services Assistant to support our team at Alcheringa Residential Aged Care Home. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and has the flexibility to pick up shifts at short notice, including covering planned leave and sick leave when required.

As a Casual Maintenance Services Assistant, you will help ensure our buildings, equipment, gardens and communal spaces remain safe, functional and well presented. Your work plays an important role in supporting the comfort, wellbeing and quality of life of our residents.

This is a varied and hands-on role suited to someone who is adaptable, dependable and able to respond to operational needs as they arise.

Key Duties:

• Carry out general maintenance tasks to maintain facilities in excellent working order
• Assist with gardening duties including watering, tidying and upkeep of outdoor areas and pathways
• Maintain buildings, equipment and public areas to a high safety and quality standard
• Identify and report preventative maintenance requirements
• Assist with stock control for maintenance and gardening supplies
• Support accurate record keeping for maintenance schedules and completed works
• Ensure compliance with essential services and safety requirements
• Liaise with and oversee contractors when required
• Keep site vehicles clean, organised and serviced appropriately
• Participate in on-call support if required
• Provide flexible coverage for planned leave and unplanned absences, including short-notice shifts

What you will bring:

• General maintenance and gardening skills
• Flexibility and willingness to work casual shifts, sometimes at short notice
• A current Driver’s Licence
• A current National Police Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience in maintenance, facility upkeep or a similar role
• A relevant trade qualification (highly regarded)
• Experience in aged care or similar environments (desirable)
• A commitment to meeting Aged Care Worker Screening requirements
