About the Role

Located in the heart of Drouin, Lyrebird Village is a welcoming aged care home where residents are supported with compassion, dignity, and personalised care. Our dedicated team is committed to creating a warm and supportive environment where residents feel safe, valued, and connected every day.

At Lyrebird Village, we pride ourselves on fostering a positive workplace culture built on teamwork, respect, and genuine care for one another. With modern facilities, strong leadership support, and a focus on meaningful relationships, our team members are empowered to make a real difference in the lives of residents and their families.

Do you enjoy hands-on work and keeping spaces safe and functional? We’re looking for a Maintenance Services Assistant to join our team on a Part-Time basis.

In this role, you’ll assist with maintaining buildings and equipment, helping to ensure a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our residents.

We’re looking for someone with a trade or maintenance background, or relevant hands-on experience, who is proactive, reliable, and takes pride in their work.

If you’re ready to contribute to a supportive team and make a real difference, we’d love to hear from you.

No two days are the same! As a Maintenance Services Assistant you will:

• Carry out general repairs and maintenance, keeping the facility running smoothly
• Perform preventative maintenance to ensure buildings, equipment, and systems are safe, reliable, and well maintained
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests, troubleshoot issues, and prioritise urgent repairs to support residents and staff
• Assist with maintaining outdoor areas and grounds, ensuring gardens, pathways, and external spaces are safe, tidy, and welcoming
• Monitor the overall condition of the facility, report hazards or larger repairs, maintain tools and records, and contribute to a safe working environment

About You

You’ll thrive with us if you have:

• A trade qualification or relevant maintenance experience
• Practical experience in general maintenance or a similar hands-on role
• Skills in building maintenance and repairs
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and respond to urgent tasks
• Sound understanding of Workplace Health & Safety requirements and safe work practices
• Current driver’s licence
• National Police Check & NDIS workers screening clearance (and relevant sector clearances as required)
• Strong communication skills and a respectful, professional manner

Perks & Benefits

As a not-for-profit you can reduce your tax by salary packaging up to $15,900 per year for living expenses, bills, rent, mortgage and groceries. Take advantage of a further $2,650 to pay for meals out or holiday accommodation.

• Training and development pathways
• Supportive leaders who are onsite
• A friendly, down-to-earth workplace
• Opportunity to build a long-term career in aged care

If you’re passionate about making a difference and want to be part of a team that genuinely values you, we would love to hear from you. Please note that selection processes will commence immediately and late applications may result in exclusion from the process. To be considered, please apply now!
