About Respect Aged Care: As a proud not-for-profit organisation since 1922, Respect Aged Care is committed to delivering high-quality care and fostering communities of belonging. Our philosophy is simple: everyone deserves the right to a life well-lived, with dignity and respect. Headquartered on the northwest coast of Tasmania, we operate aged care homes, home care services, and independent living communities across Victoria, Queensland, New South Wales, and Tasmania, supporting thousands of residents and employing a dedicated and growing workforce.

The Role: As an Enrolled Nurse (EN) at Respect Avonlea you will be responsible for delivering safe, competent clinical care while adhering to the standards set by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support the health and wellbeing of our residents.

As we provide around the clock care for our residents, flexibility to work across all shifts is essential. We have a range of opportunities available, with up to 75 hours per fortnight, depending on the roster offered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in resident admissions and ongoing assessments to identify care needs by compiling comprehensive histories from residents and/or families.
  • Maintain accurate documentation that reflects care delivery and clinical decisions.
  • Assist in implementing, contributing to, and evaluating resident care plans as directed by the supervising Registered Nurse.
  • Administer medications and ensure accurate ordering, storage, and documentation in accordance with Respect’s policies and procedures.

To be successful in the role you will need:

  • Diploma of Nursing (or equivalent).
  • Current registration with AHPRA.
  • Minimum 1 year of post-graduate nursing experience, preferably in aged care.
  • Knowledge of the Residential Classification Scale and Aged Care Quality Standards.
  • Strong clinical and documentation skills.
  • Knowledge of aged care accreditation processes.
  • Current National Police Certificate (or ability to obtain).
  • Must meet Aged Care Worker Screening legislative requirements.
  • Flexibility to work across all shifts (morning, afternoon, and night) is essential.

Why Join Respect Avonlea:

  • Permanent part-time stability with work-life balance.
  • Purpose-driven work in a growing, values-led organisation.
  • Supportive, inclusive team culture.
  • Opportunities for professional development and career progression.
  • Access to salary packaging benefits as a not-for-profit.
