About the Role

Cooinda has been a valued part of the Lithgow community since 1968, with a proud history of caring for local residents across generations. Over the past 50 years, the home has continued to grow and evolve with additions and upgrades, reflecting its commitment to quality care and comfort. The new 36-bed wing marks an exciting new chapter for Cooinda, offering modern spaces within a warm, welcoming environment where residents feel at home and staff are supported to do their best work.

Respect is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to join our team on a casual basis, based at Cooinda, Lithgow, NSW. In this role, you will provide high-quality, person-centred care to our residents, assisting with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meals, mobility, and social engagement. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys making a real difference in the lives of older adults, working flexible shifts across our welcoming aged care facilities, and being part of a supportive and friendly team.

No two days are the same! As Personal Care Assistant you will:

• Deliver high-quality personal care, supporting residents with daily activities while promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
• Assist with meals, feeding, grooming, hygiene, mobility, and light housekeeping tasks.
• Provide companionship and encourage social and emotional engagement.
• Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, reporting any changes promptly, and help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment.
• Work collaboratively with the team, communicating effectively and maintaining accurate, confidential care records.

About You

You’ll thrive with us if you have:

• Hold a Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent qualification).
• Current National Police Certificate (or ability to obtain).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Reliable and committed, with a genuine passion for providing high-quality, person-centred care.
• Experience in residential aged care is highly desirable.
• Meet the legislative requirements for Aged Care Worker Screening to ensure suitability to work in the aged care industry.
