We are seeking casual Personal Care Assistants to join the care team at our residential aged care home, Woodhaven, in Lockhart NSW.

This is a great opportunity for experienced and caring PCAs looking for flexible work. The role will provide additional support to our care team, including helping to cover sick leave, annual leave and other staffing requirements. Casual staff will have the opportunity to work across a range of shifts, subject to availability and operational needs.

The Position

The successful candidates will join our dynamic and supportive care team and provide competent personal care, support and assistance to residents under the direction and guidance of the senior clinical team.

As a Casual Personal Care Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the wellbeing, dignity and independence of our residents while working collaboratively with the broader care team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and support to assist residents to maintain their independence and dignity in relation to activities of daily living and lifestyle.
  • Attend to meal delivery and refreshments as required.
  • Record observations on relevant assessment charts and document any observed exceptions to the care plan in progress notes, reporting these to the EN/RN.
  • Check residents' daily menu requirements.
  • Attend to duties as allocated and/or delegated by the RN/EN, including general ward duties.
  • Assist with additional shifts as required to support the team, including covering planned and unplanned staff leave.
  • Undertake any other tasks within the employee's skills and scope of practice, as directed by the organisation.

Requirements

  • Current National Police Certificate (or ability to acquire).
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (or ability to acquire).
  • Relevant Certificate III qualification.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in residential aged care.
  • A caring, respectful and person-centred approach to supporting older people.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work across a range of shifts, subject to availability and operational requirements.

To be considered for employment with Respect, each candidate must satisfy the legislative requirements of Aged Care Worker Screening to ensure suitability to work in the aged care industry.
