We’re looking for a passionate Registered Nurse with 2+ years of clinical experience in aged care to join our team in a permanent part-time role with set shifts on a fortnightly rotation. About the Role: The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible to provide safe, competent and contemporary clinical nursing care to residents within the scope of practice as determined by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). On a day to day basis this position shall report to the Care Manager and General Manager. Indirect reports shall include other organisational management representatives.

Key Duties:

  • Take the lead in providing clinical oversight on the floor, ensuring safe, high-quality care for every resident.
  • Use your skills to manage complex wounds and support residents living with complex health conditions.
  • Work in partnership with a multidisciplinary team, bringing a collaborative approach to care.
  • Advocate for residents and play an active role in driving positive change and continuous improvement.
  • Develop, implement, and guide staff in delivering individualised care plans.
  • Support the development and rollout of behaviour support plans, including close collaboration with dementia support services.
  • Conduct thorough falls assessments and design interventions to minimise risk and enhance safety.
  • Ensure the safe and effective administration of medications, including the management of scheduled medicines.
  • Maintaining open disclosure with residents and their representatives.
  • Mentor and support junior staff, fostering professional growth and confidence in clinical practice.
  • Collaborate with educational institutions by supporting nursing and care students on placement, helping to shape the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in aged care. 
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Knowledge of the Residential Classification Scale and Standards for Aged Care.
  • Current National Police Certificate (or ability to acquire).
  • Knowledge of the standards required by the government for the delivery of aged care.
  • An understanding of the Commonwealth Aged Care Funding Instrument.
  • Strong clinical and documentation skills.
  • An understanding of the aged care accreditation process.
  • To be considered for employment with Respect, each candidate must satisfy the legislative requirements of Aged Care Worker Screening to ensure suitability to work in the aged care industry.
