Senior Capital Works and Operations Manager
Join a leading not-for-profit organisation making a real difference.

Are you an experienced property or project management professional ready to lead major developments that enhance communities and quality of life? Respect Aged Care is seeking a Senior Capital Works and Operations Manager to oversee high-impact projects across our growing network of aged care facilities and retirement communities.

About Respect

Since 1922, Respect Aged Care has been a proud not-for-profit organisation dedicated to serving older Australians through high-quality care, compassion, and community connection. With homes, retirement villages, and home care services across Victoria, New South Wales, Tasmania, Western Australia and Queensland, we are expanding to meet the growing needs of those we serve-and we are looking for a leader who can help shape our next chapter.

About the Role

As the Senior Capital Works and Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in planning, delivering, and maintaining property and capital projects across the organisation. From overseeing large-scale developments to managing ongoing maintenance programs, this role ensures our facilities remain safe, efficient, and aligned with our mission of providing environments where older people can thrive.

You’ll coordinate multiple projects, manage budgets and contractors, and ensure compliance with all relevant standards-all while mentoring others in best-practice project management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee, coordinate, and deliver multiple property projects across various sites.
  • Manage the development lifecycle-design, approvals, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
  • Lead and mentor high-performing project teams.
  • Ensure all property outcomes meet budget, scope, and timeline expectations.
  • Oversee preventative and corrective maintenance programs for buildings, equipment, and grounds.
  • Manage contracts, compliance documentation, and defect rectification.
  • Foster strong stakeholder relationships and ensure smooth handovers to operational teams.

About You

You are a strategic, hands-on leader with a background in property development, construction, or project management. You’re as comfortable on-site as you are in the boardroom, with the ability to manage complex projects and communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels.

What You Will Bring

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in property development, consulting, or construction as a Project or Development Manager.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
  • Experience managing budgets, contracts, and contractor performance.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, building codes, and compliance frameworks.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Current Driver’s Licence and National Police Check (or ability to obtain).

Why Respect?

At Respect, we value people-our residents, our staff, and our communities. When you join us, you become part of a team that believes everyone deserves the right to a life well-lived, with dignity and respect.

We offer:

  • A collaborative, purpose-driven culture.
  • Competitive remuneration.
  • Opportunities for professional development and career growth.
  • The satisfaction of delivering projects that make a tangible impact on people’s lives.

If you are ready to bring your expertise to a role where your work truly matters, we’d love to hear from you.
