We are seeking a reliable and organised Store Person to join our team at Lyndoch Living in Warrnambool. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in supporting day-to-day operations by managing the receipt, storage, and internal distribution of goods. You’ll also be responsible for placing orders through our central procurement system, strictly using Respect’s approved suppliers.

About the Role:
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Store Person plays a vital role in the day-to-day operations within the Procurement team, supporting contract management, supplier onboarding, purchasing, and compliance activities. You’ll be working in a dynamic environment with the opportunity to contribute to ongoing improvements and initiatives across our aged care services.

Key Duties & Responsibilities - Procurement Administration & Support

  • Monitor the procurement inbox/email and ensure all queries are followed up or referred to in a timely manner.
  • Respond to internal and external enquiries promptly and efficiently.
  • Assist in the scheduling of supplier meetings.
  • Assist other employees in understanding the Procurement process, procedures and responsibilities as per Procurement guidelines.
  • Other administrative duties and clerical support as directed by the Procurement Manager, including ad-hoc project support.
  • Proactively assist in identifying, proposing and implementing improvements to systems, processes, policies and procedures.
  • Understanding and delivery of project priorities as determined by the Procurement Manager.

Key Duties & Responsibilities - Sourcing and Purchasing

  • Processing of purchase requisitions/purchase orders as per Procurement guidelines.
  • Sourcing of new products as requested/identified by internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in the sourcing of new suppliers/services as directed by the Procurement Manager.
  • Oversee monthly budget allocations in consultation with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Responsible for the internal and external communication of any stock/order issues, order/product changes, pricing changes/budget restrictions or any other issues that may affect procurement and purchasing; escalating where required.
  • Provide assistance to staff re: purchase follow-ups, warranty issues/claims, product information/pricing and other associated tasks which may vary from time to time.
  • Delivery of supplies across organisation including all departments (food services, hotel services, care services and home care - on average 2-3 large deliveries per week

Key Duties & Responsibilities - Supplier Management

  • Build and maintain good working relationships with new and existing suppliers.
  • Assist in the evaluation of supplier performance and management of any issues or concerns.
  • Management of supplier compliance documentation in accordance with Aged Care requirements.
  • Ongoing supplier relationship management; creating positive, excellent quality customer service for our staff and residents.

Essentials:

  • Previous experience in a stores, warehouse, or logistics role
  • Sound computer literacy and experience with ordering systems
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • A team-focused attitude and ability to work independently
  • A commitment to following company procedures and procurement policies
  • Current police check or willingness to obtain one

Desirable:

  • An understanding of the Aged Care industry and best practice.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing procurement and administration support in a medium-sized organisation.
  • Sound understanding of basic Accounts Payable principles and commercial acumen
