About the Role

Costa House in Lara is more than an aged care home—it’s a place where you can grow your career while making a real difference. Our 120-bed facility, set on 65 peaceful acres, offers staff a supportive, close-knit team environment and the resources to deliver high-quality care for residents with a range of needs.  With modern rooms, expansive gardens, and easy access to local shops and community activities, our home combines a tranquil, healthy lifestyle with meaningful, rewarding work. At Costa House, you’re not just joining a workplace—you’re becoming part of a community that cares.

As a Food Services Assistant, you’ll work alongside our Chef or Cook to prepare and serve nutritious meals for residents, while maintaining high food safety standards and ensuring the kitchen and dining areas remain clean, organised and welcoming.

This is a part-time position offering 21 hours per fortnight. The successful candidate must be available to work the following roster:

• Week 1: Thursday, 9.00 am – 4.30 pm
• Week 2: Tuesday and Thursday, 3.00 pm – 7.00 pm

No two days are the same! As Food Service Assistant you will:

• Support menu planning to reflect residents’ needs, preferences, and dietary requirements.
• Prepare, serve, and present meals and refreshments in line with the Food Safety Program.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, including general cleaning and safe food handling practices.
• Monitor and record food safety requirements, including temperatures and goods received.
• Deliver meals with a friendly, respectful approach and report any food or beverage concerns to the Registered Nurse in Charge.

About You

You’ll thrive with us if you have:

• Completion of a Food Handling Course
• Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
• Previous experience in residential aged care feed services.
