Respect Aged Care’s Woodhaven facility in Lockhart NSW, is currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Food Services Assistant to join our kitchen team.

In this essential role, you will help ensure that our residents receive well-prepared, nutritious meals that meet their individual dietary needs and enhance their daily living experience. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation, portioning, serving, and timely delivery of meals and refreshments to residents.

  • Ensure all meals are served in accordance with individual dietary requirements and preferences, as outlined by clinical staff and the Food Services Program (FSP).

  • Support the implementation and ongoing monitoring of the FSP, including temperature checks, recording deliveries, and maintaining food safety standards.

  • Assist in menu planning and meal presentation to meet the diverse needs of residents.

  • Maintain cleanliness in food preparation, service, and dining areas according to hygiene and safety standards.

  • Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment to support a clean and safe environment.

  • Communicate effectively with residents and staff to ensure satisfaction and identify any food-related concerns.

  • Perform other related tasks as directed and appropriate to your skills and training.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Completion of a recognised Food Handling Course.

  • A current National Police Certificate (or willingness and ability to obtain one).

  • First Aid

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in residential aged care food services.

  • Background in hospitality or catering.

  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and dietary requirements in an aged care setting.
