About the Role
We are seeking a friendly and reliable Part-Time Food Service Cook to join our close-knit team at Maleny Erowal, with weekend availability essential.
In this role, you will work alongside a supportive kitchen team to prepare and cook nutritious, well-presented meals for our residents. You’ll play an important part in supporting daily kitchen operations, meeting dietary and food safety requirements, and helping to create a warm, enjoyable dining experience for everyone.
No two days are the same! As a Food Servies Cook, you will:
- Prepare, present, and serve meals to a high standard that residents enjoy.
- Meet residents’ nutritional, hydration, and special dietary requirements as directed by the care team.
- Identify and report stock requirements to the Chef Supervisor in a timely manner.
- Follow, document, and support the Food Safety Program in line with required standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised kitchen while promoting safe work practices.
- Plan and complete daily tasks efficiently and professionally, with minimal supervision.
About You
You’ll thrive with us if you have:
- Previous experience as a cook in aged care, healthcare, or a similar environment
- Relevant food handling or commercial cookery qualification, or willingness to obtain
- Weekend availability
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Current National Police Certificate suitable for aged care (or ability to acquire)
