About the Role

Located in the heart of Cooma, the gateway to the stunning Snowy Mountains, Hudson House and Yallambee Lodge offer more than just a place to work — they offer a community. This region delivers the perfect balance of lifestyle and career opportunity.

Hudson House, originally opened in 1995, is a warm and welcoming aged care home featuring 40 private rooms, each with its own ensuite to ensure comfort, dignity, and privacy for every resident. The home prides itself on a supportive culture where residents and staff alike feel valued and respected.

Alongside Hudson House, Yallambee Lodge provides a comprehensive range of care services, including specialised palliative care, supporting residents with complex personal and medical needs. The facility is well equipped to deliver higher levels of care, making it an ideal environment for healthcare professionals looking to expand their skills and make a meaningful difference.

Respect is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to join our team on a casual basis, based at Hudson House. In this role, you will provide high-quality, person-centred care to our residents, assisting with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meals, mobility, and social engagement. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys making a real difference in the lives of older adults, working flexible shifts across our welcoming aged care facilities, and being part of a supportive and friendly team.

No two days are the same! As Personal Care Assistant you will:

• Deliver high-quality personal care, supporting residents with daily activities while promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
• Assist with meals, feeding, grooming, hygiene, mobility, and light housekeeping tasks.
• Provide companionship and encourage social and emotional engagement.
• Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, reporting any changes promptly, and help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment.
• Work collaboratively with the team, communicating effectively and maintaining accurate, confidential care records.

About You

You’ll thrive with us if you have:

• Hold a Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent qualification).
• Current National Police Certificate (or ability to obtain).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Reliable and committed, with a genuine passion for providing high-quality, person-centred care.
• Experience in residential aged care is highly desirable.
• Meet the legislative requirements for Aged Care Worker Screening to ensure suitability to work in the aged care industry.
