About the Role
Bayview Haven offers the best of both worlds: a rewarding aged care career in a relaxed, coastal-style setting. Our team delivers high-quality, personalised care in a modern, welcoming home surrounded by landscaped gardens, outdoor green spaces, and light-filled community areas. With freshly prepared meals, engaging lifestyle programs, and strong on-call clinical and operational support, staff are empowered to focus on meaningful care and genuine connection. Whether you’re already part of the local community or looking for a fresh start by the coast, Bayview Haven is a supportive, close-knit workplace where you can grow your career and enjoy a better pace of life.

Are you a practical, hands-on person who enjoys keeping outdoor spaces and buildings safe, tidy, and well maintained? We are seeking a reliable and community-minded Maintenance Officer to join our team on a full-time basis. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day within a close-knit and supportive environment.

This position is ideally suited to someone with strong gardening skills and general maintenance knowledge who enjoys being active and working both outdoors and indoors. You will be responsible for maintaining our gardens, grounds, and buildings, supporting the comfort, safety, and wellbeing of our residents.

We are looking for someone with practical, hands-on experience rather than formal trade qualifications. This is not a specialist trade position; instead, it suits someone with gardening experience supported by general maintenance knowledge who is confident using tools, can work independently and as a part of a team, and takes pride in maintaining neat, functional spaces. You will need to be self-motivated, reliable, physically capable, and approachable, with a respectful manner suited to working within a community environment.

If you enjoy practical work and want to contribute positively to a community setting, we would love to hear from you.

No two days are the same! As Maintenance Officer you will:
  • Maintain and care for outdoor areas and grounds, ensuring gardens, lawns, pathways, and external spaces are safe, tidy, and well presented at all times.
  • Carry out general repairs and basic upkeep across the facility, using practical skills to keep the environment well maintained.
  • Complete maintenance tasks that are allocated to you, ensuring work is carried out in a timely and efficient manner
  • Monitor the overall presentation and safety of the site, reporting hazards and contributing to a safe, organised working environment.
About You
You’ll thrive with us if you have:
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in gardening, grounds care, and general maintenance
  • General knowledge of building upkeep and minor repairs, with confidence using tools and equipment safely
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and approach tasks with initiative and common sense
  • Sound understanding of Workplace Health & Safety requirements and safe work practices
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Ability to obtain or provide a National Police Check and NDIS workers screening clearance
  • Strong communication skills with a respectful, community-focused and professional manner
Perks & Benefits
  • As a not-for-profit you can reduce your tax by salary packaging up to $15,900 per year for living expenses, bills, rent, mortgage and groceries. Take advantage of a further $2,650 to pay for meals out or holiday accommodation
  • Training and development pathways
  • Supportive leaders who are onsite
  • A friendly, down-to-earth workplace
  • Opportunity to build a long-term career in aged care
Ready to Apply?
If you’re passionate about caring for others and want to be part of a team that genuinely values you, we would love to hear from you. Please note that selection processes will commence immediately, any late applications may result in exclusion from the process. To be considered please apply now!
