About the Role: We are currently seeking a permanent part time food services cook to join the hospitality team at Coates. You will need to be available to work weekends! 

In this role, you will assist with preparing nutritious, high-quality meals that support the health and wellbeing of our residents. You'll work collaboratively with the wider team to ensure meals are prepared safely, efficiently and in line with residents' dietary requirements.

As a Cook, you will:

  • Prepare and cook nutritious meals in line with planned menus and dietary requirements

  • Ensure meals are presented to a high standard and served on time

  • Maintain food safety and infection control standards

  • Assist with special dietary and texture-modified meal preparation

  • Support stock control and minimise food waste

  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment

  • Work collaboratively with the care team to support resident wellbeing

  • Provide flexible coverage across a casual roster, including weekends and leave relief


To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous cooking experience, ideally within aged care, healthcare or hospitality

  • Knowledge of food safety standards and safe food handling practices

  • A Food Safety Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)

  • Strong time management and organisational skills

  • A positive, team-focused attitude

  • A genuine passion for supporting older Australians

  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends

  • A valid Police Check (or willingness to obtain one)
