The Opportunity:
We're on the lookout for an experienced Network and Systems Engineer to join the IT Operations team at Respect. As a valued member of our team, you will be responsible for the day to day operation, maintenance and improvement of Respect’s network infrastructure, servers, services and cloud platforms.
Requirements:
Essential
- Demonstrated experience administering enterprise server environments,
including Windows Server and Linux.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft cloud and identity platforms, including Microsoft
365, Entra ID, Active Directory, and Azure.
- Working knowledge of enterprise networking — TCP/IP, VLANs, VPN, switching,
routing, wireless, firewalls (incl. SD-WAN) — and experience operating network
and infrastructure monitoring tools, ideally on Ubiquiti and PRTG.
- Working knowledge of modern cyber security principles, including Zero Trust,
network segmentation, endpoint detection and response (EDR), business
continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR) planning, and frameworks such as NIST
CSF 2 and the ACSC Essential Eight.
- Proven ability to perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis across
infrastructure systems to prevent recurring issues.
- Current National Police Certificate (or ability to acquire).
Desirable
- Experience with virtualisation platforms (Proxmox, Hyper-V) and enterprise
storage including SAN Experience with backup and disaster recovery platforms
- Working knowledge of VoIP and unified communications at the network layer,
including platforms such as 3CX
- Hands-on experience with Ubiquiti UniFi networking (switching, wireless,
gateway, controller)
- Experience administering CCTV / video management systems (VMS, NVR) and
electronic door access control platforms
- Awareness of critical clinical systems (such as nurse call) and how they integrate
with IT network and server infrastructure
- Familiarity with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash), and use of AI tools
and agents to improve productivity and quality of infrastructure work
- Project management experience
