The Position: The Personal Care Assistant is responsible for providing competent personal care, support and assistance to all residents under the direction and guidance of the senior clinical team.

Key Duties:

• Provide personal care and support to residents, including assistance with hygiene, toileting, repositioning, and other overnight needs.
• Monitor residents’ wellbeing and promptly respond to call bells or any signs of discomfort or concern.
• Help create a calm, restful, and reassuring environment, ensuring residents feel safe and cared for during the night.
• Assist with bedtime and early morning routines, supporting residents with dignity and respect.
• Perform regular room and safety checks, maintaining accurate records and reporting any changes in residents’ condition.
• Collaborate closely with the nursing team to ensure smooth handovers and continuity of care between shifts.
• Record observations on relevant assessment charts and documents any observed exceptions to the care plan in the progress notes; and reports such to the EN/RN.

Essential Requirements:

• Current National Police Certificate (or ability to acquire).
• Relevant Certificate III Qualification.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in residential aged care. 
• To be considered for employment with Respect, each candidate must satisfy the legislative requirements of Aged Care Worker Screening to ensure suitability to work in the aged care industry.
