The Position: The Personal Care Assistant is responsible for providing competent personal care, support and assistance to all residents under the direction and guidance of the senior clinical team.
Key Duties:
Provide personal care and support to residents, including assistance with hygiene, toileting, repositioning, and other overnight needs.
Monitor residents’ wellbeing and promptly respond to call bells or any signs of discomfort or concern.
Help create a calm, restful, and reassuring environment, ensuring residents feel safe and cared for during the night.
Assist with bedtime and early morning routines, supporting residents with dignity and respect.
Perform regular room and safety checks, maintaining accurate records and reporting any changes in residents’ condition.
Collaborate closely with the nursing team to ensure smooth handovers and continuity of care between shifts.
Record observations on relevant assessment charts and documents any observed exceptions to the care plan in the progress notes; and reports such to the EN/RN.
Essential Requirements:
Current National Police Certificate (or ability to acquire).
Relevant Certificate III Qualification.
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in residential aged care.
To be considered for employment with Respect, each candidate must satisfy the legislative requirements of Aged Care Worker Screening to ensure suitability to work in the aged care industry.
