The position
The Personal Care Assistant is responsible for providing competent personal care, support, and assistance to all residents under the direction and guidance of the senior clinical team.
Key duties
Provide personal care to assist residents to maintain independence and dignity in their daily living and lifestyle
Assist with meal delivery and refreshments as required
Record observations on assessment charts and document any exceptions in the care plan or progress notes, reporting to the EN/RN as necessary
Check residents’ daily menu requirements
Undertake duties as allocated or delegated by the RN/EN, including general ward duties
Essential requirements
Current National Police Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Relevant Certificate III qualification
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
Experience in residential aged care
Flexibility to work across morning, afternoon, and night shifts
To be considered for employment with Respect, candidates must meet the legislative requirements of the Aged Care Worker Screening to ensure suitability to work in the aged care industry.
