About the Role
Gracemere Gardens is a welcoming aged care community where resident wellbeing and comfort are at the heart of everything we do. We’re seeking a part-time Food Service Assistant to join our friendly team, helping with meal preparation and service and making mealtimes a safe, enjoyable, and positive experience for our residents.
Reporting to the Chef/Cook, the Food Services Assistant helps deliver safe, tasty meals and beverages that meet our residents’ individual needs, while supporting the Food Safety Program.
No two days are the same! As Food Services Assistant, you will:
- Assist with menu planning to meet residents’ individual needs and preferences.
- Prepare, serve, present, and deliver food and beverages in line with the Food Safety Program (FSP).
- Perform general cleaning in accordance with the FSP.
- Help monitor and record FSP requirements, including temperatures and goods receipting.
- Ensure friendly and timely delivery of meals and refreshments to residents.
- Participate in the ongoing quality review of the FSP.
- Report any food- or beverage-related concerns to the Registered Nurse in Charge.
- Undertake other tasks within your skill set as directed by the organisation.
About You
You’ll thrive with us if you have:
- Current National Police Certificate (or ability to acquire).
- Experience in residential aged care food services.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, resident-focused service.
- Willingness and ability to work a 7-day rotating roster to support consistent food service.
- To be considered for employment with Respect, each candidate must satisfy the legislative requirements of Aged Care Worker Screening to ensure suitability to work in the aged care industry.
