About the Role

As a Casual Food Services Assistant, you’ll work alongside our Chef or Cook to prepare and serve meals for residents, while maintaining food safety standards and keeping the kitchen and dining areas running smoothly. Based in a regional community, this role offers a welcoming, close-knit team environment where everyone pitches in and your contribution is genuinely valued—along with a lifestyle that supports better work-life balance. 

 

No two days are the same! As Food Service Assistant you will:

  • Support menu planning to reflect residents’ needs, preferences, and dietary requirements.
  • Prepare, serve, and present meals and refreshments in line with the Food Safety Program.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, including general cleaning and safe food handling practices.
  • Monitor and record food safety requirements, including temperatures and goods received.
  • Deliver meals with a friendly, respectful approach and report any food or beverage concerns to the Registered Nurse in Charge.

About You

You’ll thrive with us if you have:

  • Completion of a Food Handling Course
  • Current National Police Check/NDIS (or willingness to obtain)
  • Previous experience in residential aged care feed services.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn  
  • Physical capability to meet the demands of the role
  • A compassionate and respectful approach to aged care
