Role Overview

The Social Care Assistant is responsible for facilitating a variety of individual, group, and community-based lifestyle activities tailored to the physical, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of our residents. You will play a key role in promoting wellbeing, inclusion, and enjoyment within the home.

 

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Certificate III or IV in Aged Care or a related discipline
  • Current National Police Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Empathy and sensitivity towards residents from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills when engaging with residents, families, staff, and visitors

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Document social profiles of new residents and assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating individual social care plans
  • Contribute to the planning, coordination, and delivery of group and individual activities
  • Maintain and manage resources for the activities program
  • Prepare and distribute newsletters, activity notices, and related correspondence
  • Support the Social Care Co-Ordinator and General Manager in coordinating and supervising volunteers
  • Undertake other appropriate duties aligned with your skills, as directed by the organisation
