About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Casual Food Service Assistant to join the team at Mareeba Gardens. You will support the catering team by assisting with meal preparation, service, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organised dining environment for our residents.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with meal preparation, plating, and service to ensure residents receive nutritious, well-presented meals.

  • Support dietary requirements under the guidance of the clinical and catering teams.

  • Maintain cleanliness in kitchen, dining, and service areas in line with food safety standards.

  • Assist with stock handling, including restocking and basic inventory support.

  • Uphold the Food Safety Program and follow safe work practices at all times.

  • Work effectively within the team to support smooth daily operations.

  • Perform additional duties within your skill level as directed by the organisation.

Essential Requirements

  • Food Handling Course (or willingness to obtain).

  • Experience in hospitality, kitchen work, or food service.

  • Current National Police Certificate (or ability to acquire).

  • Ability to meet Aged Care Worker Screening requirements.

  • Strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to supporting older residents.
