Food Services Cook – Supervisory Role (Non-Cook-Fresh Site)

Are you an experienced cook or kitchen supervisor with a passion for supporting aged care services - but without the demands of daily fresh cooking? We’re looking for a dedicated and organised individual to lead and oversee kitchen operations at our aged care facility where meals are prepared off-site and delivered fresh daily.
About the Role:
This is a supervisory kitchen role suited to someone who understands food safety, aged care dietary requirements, and the importance of mealtime in residents’ daily lives. While you won’t be cooking from scratch, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring quality, consistency, and compliance in all aspects of meal service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise kitchen and food service staff across shifts
- Oversee plating, reheating, and presentation of residents meals daily
- Ensure strict compliance with food safety and aged care standards
- Manage kitchen documentation, HACCP records, and audits
- Liaise with Clinical staff regarding residents needs
- Train and support staff in food handling and infection control procedures
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming kitchen environment
About You:
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service supervisory role (aged care experience highly regarded)
- Understanding of dietary requirements for the elderly (IDDSI knowledge a bonus)
- Excellent communication and team leadership skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Certificate in Food Safety Handling or willingness to obtain
- Passion for making mealtimes enjoyable and dignified for residents
